The Elite Panda is a blog devoted to bringing you the views and opinions of a certain teenager (that's me, in case you're slow) on today's technology and on video games. Since technology also encompasses video games, that first statement seems a little redundant on itself. However, so much of my childhood and current life has been centered around games, incorporating them into my own personal blog seems like a logical progression.
Posts located on this blog will be different and slightly random. Whatever I feel like writing about, I will write about, kind of like most blogs out there today. There is no schedule, so subscribe to my feed or check back often for new updates. Also, post will be in a format very similar to this one now; That is in first-person and very informal. Formal writing is a great skill to have and more power to the people who like writing like that, or to the news sites whose journalistic style surpasses my own. You, the reader, most likely will not see much formality on my blog. I might change it up, go crazy for a little bit, but I write like I write, so if you don't enjoy it, this might not be the blog for you. Opinions can be expressed in any form, and this is mine.
(More of the Manifesto after the page break)
There are recurring post types that appear on the blog. These can be added at any time but the goal right now is to just focus on building up the VG Reviews section. Once a few reviews are up and polished to a standard that I like, I will be adding other sections. All of these can easily be accessed from the top bar that appears on each of the pages in this blog. Of course all posts will appear on the front page of the site and will all dump into the same main feed, but sub-feeds will be created for each section.
In the future, I hope to host (along with others hopefully) a weekly podcast. The podcast will be another platform in which I can express my ideas and opinions, minus the text. If you don't love the writing on the website, you probably will not like the podcast, but hopefully you will listen to one full episode. Podcast are a sort of passion of mine, and doing one is a dream of mine. My goal with the podcast is to create new and varied content, along with weekly segments, that will build a strong listener base and hopefully attract a large audience to The Elite Panda. Be sure to leave a review on the podcast's iTunes page so that the show can climb the charts. This section of the manifesto will be edited when a podcast is up weekly and actually has a name.
Loose plans for visaul media are also being thrown around my think-tank. Videos are also another passion of mine (search Secret Agent Max on YouTube, watch me embarrass myself) and tailoring them for my own blog seems very doable and is a plan for the future.
Ads will also be incorporated into the website, but the plan right now is to have only a few small ones located at the bottom of the site. This way, they are out of the way while reading the posts and are only there if you would like to support us. Donations are welcome. All the proceeds will go towards an (hopefully) eventual domain name and larger web server. After that, I will take half of what is left over and the other half will go towards a charity of the communities choosing. When I have a sizable amount, I will throw up a poll on the front page of the blog as to which charity it should go toward.
Here's where I'm going to throw in a little disclaimer. All the views and opinions expressed on The Elite Panda are mine alone, unless otherwise quoted from another source. If you see any flavor images or properties mentioned here, they do not belong to me, and if asked by the original creator, will be taken down. I, however, hold all rights to my own content and, unless I royally screw up, it will be kept up on the site. I'm not fluent in legal jargon, but that seems to cover all of the bases.
If you're a regular reader of the blog, thank you so very much for your support and encouragement. It really is rewarding to see how many people are reading and how much traffic I'm receiving. It motivates me on and I hope to provide the best content I can for you guys. If you're a new reader, welcome and I hope this post has given you a little insight into what this is all about. Thank you again for reading. TEP is very close to me, and I hope it becomes close to the community as well.
